We Treat a Wide Range of Sports Injuries:
- Knee Pain: From runner’s knee to recovering from a ligament injury, we look at how your knee, hip and low back move together. A suspected ACL or other ligament tear should be checked by a medical doctor first.
- Back Pain: Whether caused by repetitive strain or a sudden impact, we can help alleviate back pain and improve your range of motion.
- Sprains & Strains: Sprains and strains are common sports injuries. Once fractures have been ruled out, care may help ease pain and support your return to activity.
- Repetitive Strain Injuries: We look at the movement habits behind overuse injuries, and care may help improve flexibility and reduce discomfort.
- Tight or Overworked Muscles: Soft tissue techniques may help ease muscle tightness and soreness. Sudden or severe swelling should be checked by a medical doctor.
- Tendon & Ligament Tears: We work closely with your doctor to create a comprehensive treatment plan for torn tendons and ligaments.
- Sciatica: Chiropractic adjustments can help alleviate pain caused by sciatica, a condition affecting the sciatic nerve.
- Shoulder Pain: Our chiropractors can address shoulder pain caused by overuse, rotator cuff injuries, and other conditions.

- Rehabilitation Exercises: Our team will create a personalized exercise program to strengthen the injured area and help lower your risk of re-injury.
- Stress Management: Sports injuries can be mentally challenging. We offer stress management techniques to help you cope with the frustration of being sidelined.
When to See a Medical Doctor First
Some sports injuries need emergency care or imaging before chiropractic care. Get medical care right away if you have:
- Signs of a head injury or concussion after a hit: confusion, memory loss, vomiting, a worsening headache or passing out
- An obvious deformity, a joint that looks out of place, or a bone you think may be broken
- Trouble bearing weight or using the limb, or swelling that came on fast after a pop or twist
- Numbness, tingling or weakness in an arm or leg after a neck or back injury, or weakness that is getting worse
- Loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness in the groin, or back pain with a fever
Once serious injuries are ruled out, we can evaluate you and work alongside your medical doctor.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
- Your injury and your sport. How it happened, which movements hurt, your training schedule and your goals.
- Exam. Range of motion, posture analysis, and orthopedic and neurologic tests of the injured area and the joints around it.
- X-rays when appropriate. Low-dose X-rays help rule out other causes. If you need an MRI or a specialist, we’ll refer you.
- Your plan. We explain what we found, whether chiropractic care is a good fit, how long we expect care to take, how often we recommend visits, and the cost.
How Sports Injury Care Works
- Settle the injury. Gentle adjustments and soft tissue work, plus massage therapy when appropriate, with guidance on which activities to pause or modify.
- Restore movement. Rehabilitation and home exercises to rebuild range of motion, strength and control.
- Re-check before you return. We re-examine you and update your plan, so your return to training is based on how you’re moving, not just how you feel.
- Stay in the game. Warm-up, technique and recovery habits that may help lower the risk of the same injury coming back.
Before you head back to training, get a plan. Your first consultation is free.

Sports Injury FAQs
Should I see a chiropractor or a medical doctor for a sports injury?
If you might have a fracture, dislocation, concussion or torn ligament, see a medical doctor first. For back, neck and shoulder pain, strains and overuse injuries, you can call us to schedule an evaluation.
Do you see kids and teen athletes?
Yes. We see athletes of all ages, and care is adapted to each patient’s age and size.
Can I keep training during care?
It depends on the injury. We’ll tell you which activities to pause or modify and when it makes sense to build back up.
How soon can I get back to my sport?
It depends on the injury and how you respond to care. We re-check your progress and won’t rush your return.
Is sports chiropractic care available in Scottsdale?
Yes. We see athletes at our North Scottsdale office as well as our Phoenix–Ahwatukee office. Request an appointment at either location.
What Our Patients Say
Thank you for your great treatments to keep me pain free…
This is a special note to say thank you for your great treatments to keep me pain free and moving. When I first walked in the office I could not drive myself there, the pain in my lower back was extreme. I could not move, sit, walk or lay down without pain. Now I can touch my toes again and I can move in all directions. My last xray showed that I have again a nice curve in my neck and in my back and I am very happy with the treatments and how I am feeling.
MARGARITA H
When I came in on my first visit I had a bad rotator cuff injury and was in pain. My back had always hurt as well. Well I had some xrays taken and sat down with the doctor. Then I learned about chiropractic. I have only been here one month and am moving and will be continuing my care in California. I feel so much better, but most importantly, I am getting to the root of my problems with my back and neck and in turn can fix my rotator cuff.
Thank you doctor!
